Website, Zalo OA or Messenger: Where Should Your First Chatbot Start?

Select the first chatbot channel by customer demand, administrative access and follow-up ownership before expanding across multiple channels.

Website, Zalo OA or Messenger: Where Should Your First Chatbot Start?

Start where customer demand is clearest and the business has both administrative access and follow-up ownership. A website suits visitors reading product content; Zalo OA suits existing OA enquiries; Messenger suits a business whose Fanpage is its main conversation entry point. You do not need all three immediately.

FlowNexa lists these channels as configurable within deployment scope. Platform capability does not mean every channel is included in a website plan. Confirm access requirements, configuration and costs first.

Practical guidance

Compare the journey and operating readiness

Adapt to the business scope and operating capacity.

Website: assist visitors where they research

This suits visitors arriving at service pages, catalogues or documents through search and sales-shared links. Check mobile behavior, chat access and return to page content. Ease of installing a widget is not enough if the website has few relevant visitors.

Zalo OA: follow demand already present on the OA

If customers already send questions to the Official Account, assess assistance within that journey. Distinguish a business OA from a personal Zalo account; OA integration does not imply personal account support. An administrator must confirm the account and required permissions.

Messenger: assess current inbox quality

If customers discover the business through its Fanpage and ask about services, Messenger may be a suitable starting point. Identify Page administrators and existing inbox owners so that multiple systems do not produce inconsistent replies.

This article does not prescribe platform message windows or quotas. Those requirements need verification against current documentation and the actual configuration during implementation. Do not apply one channel’s conditions to another.

Practical guidance

Assess one channel before expanding

Adapt to the business scope and operating capacity.

Use an internal selection worksheet

For each channel, record actual customer demand, content readiness, administrative access, escalation ownership and operating effort. A business-defined 0–2 scale can help discussion; it is an illustrative tool, not a market benchmark.

A busy inbox without administrative access or someone to receive enquiries is not ready. Do not let a high aggregate score override a blocking condition. Select the first channel using both customer value and operational accountability.

Test ordinary questions, missing information, customer requests for a person, intake failures and after-hours behavior. Share approved knowledge where appropriate, but adapt escalation to each channel. A common knowledge base does not imply identical interfaces or workflows.

Expand only after the first channel’s content and ownership are stable. For each extension, confirm commercial scope, granted permissions and the process for disconnecting it when circumstances change.

Define first-channel acceptance

Customers should receive in-scope information, employees should know where enquiries originate, and errors should be traceable. Verify that the business controls administrative access and that staff changes will not silently break the connection.

Compare relevant enquiries and operating effort by channel rather than combining all messages. If customers are bounced between channels, fix intake before expanding.

Frequently asked questions

Adapt to the business scope and operating capacity.

Should we launch all three channels at once?

Only when each has demand, access and a receiving team. An accountable single-channel pilot is usually easier to assess.

Is Zalo OA the same as personal Zalo?

No. Identify the account type and supported integration scope; do not assume OA capabilities apply to personal accounts.

Does shared knowledge mean identical workflows?

No. Content can be shared, while permissions, presentation and escalation need channel-specific checks.
